Assistant Director, Valuation

Duties and Responsibilities
- Enforcing relevant provisions of various statutes relating to valuation;
- Undertaking Stamp Duty valuations;
- Preparation of Valuation Roll;
- Undertaking investigations on valuation disputes and appeals;
- Generating, collecting and remitting revenue from valuation services;
- Preparing valuation case briefs and responses to County assembly issues;
- Attending courts and tribunals on valuation matters;
- Coordinating valuation of assets for Departments in the County;
- Coordinating assessment of ground rent during sub-divisions and alienations.
- Preparing research proposals on emerging valuation trends and issues;
- Preparing reports on the impact of infrastructural projects on land values;
- Representing the public sector Valuers in the Valuers and Estate Agents Registration Boards
- Coaching and mentoring of staff
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- At least eighteen (18) years of experience of which five (5) should be in Public Service
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Land Economics, Real Estate and Property Studies or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Property Valuation, Estate Management. Property Studies, Real Estate or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Been registered by the Valuers Registration Board;
- Be proficient in computer skills;
